Holy smokes! Russell Gottwaldt was commissioned by award-winning, critically-acclaimed artist Haseeb Ahmed to contribute to his most recent work, Muqarnas 2007. Russell was hired as an information designer to create a data map which supplements the hanging installation in the MCA’s new show, Mapping the Self. The polyurethane sculpture is up now through February 10th in the MCA. Several replicas of the piece are installed throughout the city as indicated by the map. Check it out.
